The Signature Day

Ski to Italy for Lunch.

From the top of Zermatt you can cross the border into Italy and ski down to Cervinia — long, sunny, cruising runs with the Matterhorn (the Italians call it Cervino) watching over you the whole way.

We time it so we arrive at a proper Italian mountain restaurant for lunch — espresso, pasta, a glass of something — then ski the afternoon back into Switzerland. It's one of the great days in the Alps, and almost nobody does it right without a guide who knows the timing, the lifts, and the weather windows.
